Aptadir Therapeutics, a Milan-based biotech developing a novel class of RNA inhibitor-based therapeutics, has closed a €40 million seed round — one of the largest in European life sciences and the largest ever raised by an Italian biotech. The round was led by 4BIO Capital, with follow-on investment from EXTEND co-investors, including Angelini Ventures.

The funds will advance Aptadir's lead candidate, CAP1-FMR1, toward clinical development for Fragile X Syndrome, alongside a broader pipeline targeting intractable cancers and rare genetic conditions built on the Company's proprietary DiRs technology.
