Angelini Ventures joins the European Life Sciences Coalition

Angelini Ventures has become a member of the European Life Sciences Coalition (ELSC), an initiative launched in association with Invest Europe to mobilise capital, simplify regulation and strengthen public markets for European life sciences companies.

What the Coalition is
The ELSC was launched earlier this year with a clear mission: to mobilise public and private capital towards life sciences and biotech in Europe, and to remove the obstacles that slow companies down as they grow. Its members manage more than €30 billion in life sciences-specific assets and have invested in, or helped found, over 1,700 companies.
Three priorities
  1. More capital for Europe’s life sciences ecosystem. Europe has strong science but limited capital across all stages of company development. The Coalition advocates for bringing pension, insurance and other institutional capital into European venture funds, for stronger public-private investment mechanisms, and for a Savings and Investment Union that directs long-term savings towards European innovation.
  2. Faster pathways from science to patients. Developing a new medicine in Europe means working through complex and often fragmented regulation. The Coalition calls for simpler and faster clinical trial pathways, innovation-friendly regulation and a Biotech Act that makes Europe a more attractive place to develop new therapies.
  3. European capital markets for European growth companies. Many European biotech companies see NASDAQ as their only realistic option for going public. When they do, headquarters, talent and value often leave Europe with them. The Coalition supports deeper, more liquid and more integrated European public markets, and policies that encourage private capital to invest in them.
The shared goal is to found, fund, scale and retain Europe’s next generation of life sciences champions.
Why this matters to us
As an investor in life sciences and digital health, we back companies from their earliest stages and follow them as they grow. Their success depends on the whole ecosystem: capital that is available at each stage, regulation that lets good science reach patients without unnecessary delay, and markets where companies can raise growth capital close to home. These are the conditions the Coalition is working to improve, and we want to contribute our experience as investors to that work.
Open Letter
In June, the ELSC published an Open Letter to European and national leaders, asking them to treat life sciences as a strategic priority for Europe’s competitiveness, resilience and health. It has already gathered more than 225 biotech CEO signatories. Companies can add their support and their logo here: [link]
